I recently bought an oem keyless entry remote on ebay that works for 1995-1999 Maximas. When I tried to use the instructions supplied, which are the same instructions on

it did not work. I could not get the car into setting mode, insert and remove the key from the ignition more than six times within 10 seconds, no matter how many times I tried. Is this the standard and only way to program a keyless remote onto a Maxima or is there something that I am doing wrong?

 

don't think it works for GXEs

 

Do you have the Security and Convenience package?

I had a GXE and it worked.

 

Little red light(LED) under the gauges, on a little pannel that also says security next to it....if you don't have that you don't have the security system.....sorry...

 

it will work on a 95 gxe i have one

make sure u have ur doors locked

get in the car
shut all the doors
lock them with the switch on the drivers side window controls
then insert key 6 times
the hazards should flash
then turn the car to acc
and press any button on the remote

i tried this before and i forgot to lock the doors and it was really frustrating me hope thats ur problem

it has already been sold.. but now my questions is if can buy any of those remotes.. i always thought that i need to buy wires, remote, and all that other stuff..but i guess not.. right? the car already comes with all that if it has the red light? thanx for the info

 

If you have the Security light then all you need is the remote!
