Are these symptoms of a failing MAFS?

Well lately, Ive been experienceing these problems. I have normal idle after cleaning my IACV. But sometimes , not always, when im at a stop and idling, I press the gass, and the RPMs actually drop to 400-500, but never really turns off, feels like it does but doest. I would be pushing the gas pedal but car wouldnt move...like it was stuck at 500, then it eventually starts to go up and car moves. Normally driving I can feel the unsteady acceleration, such as smooth, then stop, then keeps going, etc... Could this be my MAF sensor? Its just a thought. Thanks in advance.

Clean it and check the ground. You may be able to bring it back to life.

Always been afraid of actually spraying something on the sensor itself. We cna use TB cleaner to clean it right? WHat should the ground measure when testing it? Are these symptoms even related to my MAFs?

you have to see this for bad MAF

1. your engine will drops rpms very quicky and no matter if you are in stop or highway. Sometimes feels like que car doesnt have fuel on the tank
for a very short second.

2. gas mileage will be affected with this sh...t.

3. Check engine light

Things to do:

1. clean the maf interior with carbu cleaner...but warning!!! spray at least 10 inch. from the Maf. You should clean the electric part inside de MAF.

2. This part is the most important and the man!!! you should have a lot patience to do it. Well....you will see one side of the MAF theres a bolts on it...so you have to removed but very carefuly, (4 bolts) then you should remove that part so slowly...then you will see inside theres 4 cables...or something made with aliminium or something like that...they are join to another parts...so thats why you should remove it very carefully. Then you clean it but with a knife...just one time.
Then you can reintall it and thats all man!!! after that my MAF comes alive again and no problem at all.

i hope this info help you

Well I dont have a check engine light. My gas mileage is crap, has been crap for a while, Id say 12 MPG or less. Sometimes it feels liek my car has stalled cause it stays at low rpms when I accelerate, but its just that the RPMs dropped and stay dropped for a only a second. I can feel it when moving also, not smooth, almost like constatn hesitaion, like smoothly to 2k rpms, then doesnt go higher, ,then smoothly rises to 2500 rpms, then stays there..etc...

thanks for the info!

BINGO!
That statement for sure tells you it's MAF failure.

Yep, I cleaned the screen and the sensing elements with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.
