bad experience with greddy???

right now im trying to pick between gettin sum H&R shocks or the infamous GREDDY Cat-Back Exhaust. Only tonight i saw a post talking about how a drop has effected a drivers car and make the car tilt to the right...i read the post and it spoke about getting 3 allignments without anything being fixed. Just reading that made me want to put off the lowering springs... i found the H&R's for 180...and i know im suppose to change the shocks too, but going around 500 i rather spend on the GREDDY than the spring/shock combination.

my question now is ...has anyone had a bad experience they can blaim on the greddy cat-back??? i know everyone blows a tranny once in a while...but this is just for people who purchased the exhaust and that had problems most likely due to exhaust. tell me your story

Get some new struts/shocks first, a cat-back is a cosmetic mod basically. IMO it looks pretty stupid to have an exhaust and a ride height that rivals most new SUVs.

I hatted the drop when I had my H&R's so I switched to Intrax. But yeah, get the springs first and go from there.

if youre getting a crazy good deal on the H&R then get the springs. check out the classified on the forum to find some good deals on shocks/struts. i've had my greddy for 6 months and i've encounter no problems or any kind of rust. the only thing that i didnt like about is that it sounds like a stock exhaust.

The Greddy is not going to do anything negative to your car if thats what your asking. I have heard pretty good things about it. A few have said that the B-pipe has rusted a little on them, and that when combined with a Y-pipe it drones a little. But i think it makes the maxima sound mean as hell. not ricey at all, just very deep (check out the soundclip below). And it should give you around 5-8 HP. Also Greddy is coming out with an SP2 soon that is full stainless steel, so you might want to wait until that out instead. Or pick up an old SP for cheap when it comes out. Here is a soundclip of the catback with a Budget Y-pipe cortesy of zeff789, http://www.newschoolers.com/PHP/Videos/Uploaded/mainb itchmain.WMV (you need to copy/paste it and get rid of the space in b!tch)

i guess i forgot to voice my opinion on suspension or exhaust. get the h&r springs if you want. however, get at least some kyb gr2 struts/shocks. i've got the oem SE units and they haven't held up well. i definitely think that springs are more worth the ride when you have a good sport strut/shock set to go with them. agx are very nice, but gr2 units are significantly cheaper and still a good bang-for-the-buck.
