Gold emblem to Chrome.

Gold emblem to Chrome.

How do I get my gold emblem to chrome? Thanks.

Take off the gold emblems and put on chrome ones.

isn't there a gold coating on it? is there some kind of chemical to remove the gold?

i bought the maxima in silver/chrome from the dealer, but sanded the key lock and antenna and it came out silver...do it up!

Yeah, Gold emblems are simply regular chrome color ones that the dealer had gold plated. You can buy new ones, paint the old ones, or sand it off and see what happens. I think new emblems are fairly cheap.

silver is not chrome right? sanding the gold would damage the underneth chrome?

front grill emblem. gold color is slightly faded already.

I took an optical polish and buffed the trunk key hole and antenna (both gold and fading). I didn't spend much time with it, but they are almost silver now.

No it's a white paste (well sort of) with a fine polishing compound. It's called NicSand "Optical Grade Automotive Polish". I was using it to get rid of scratches, then I tried it on the gold (figuring it would either *sand* it to chrome or polish the gold) it started to take off the gold (I hate the gold0).
