installed 2k3 SE muffler

I bought an used 2k3 SE muffler from a member. Today I went to Midas to get them to put the muffler on. Since I still had the Apexi WS bpipe on, it couldn't be bolted right up. The 2k3 muffler had the pipe section with the flange, so if I still had the stock bpipe, it would just bolt right on. So, the guy had to cut off the flange of the Apexi muffler, bolted it back onto the Apexi bpipe, cut off the flange of the 2k3 muffler, and welded the two together. $40 to get this done, not bad. I noticed it wasn't as quiet/silent as a totally stock system. Maybe it's because I still have the Apexi bpipe? Btw, I don't have an aftermarket ypipe or cat. Overall, I'm glad I had this done. Even though the Apexi WS catback isn't that loud, people still can hear the exhaust tone when I step on the gas. With this setup now, it's much quieter. It's not silent though, just right IMO.

i donno if a'pexi b-pipe is well-resonated. but at least with budget y-pipe and magnaflow muffler it sounds a bit louder than stock. i believe an aftermarket cat will make the exhaust system even louder. why did u change to 2k3 muffler? i always wanted a WS catback system. :jealous:

btw is ur dual gauge pod still for sale? is it painted? i'll take it for $20 shipped. u got PM

kevlo911: I didn't do this for hp gain. Honestly, I can't tell if there's any difference. It's quieter, that's about it.

happyricefob: I changed it because I want it to be quieter. Good thing it's not completely silent. Sounds pretty good actually. And yes, I still got the dual gauge pod.
