HIDs worth it?

Are hids really worth it? Do they light up the road that much better? I have seen how good OEM hids are in Acuras, BMWs and such, but could an aftermarket set without projectors really be that good?

Definetly worth it... to you. They will not give as much focus as a projector headlight housing would with the same HIDs... but if you get the right kit, they will light up the road like you wouldn't believe. Not all HIDs are equal though.

Check out my cardomain site and look at the pics of mine if you'd like.

They will light up the road much better compared to stock but be prepared to lose your highbeam (unless you get a more costly kit), and have other drivers annoyed at your unfocused extra-bright HID's.

worth it. I regret everytime I drive out on the highway at night that I didn't fork out the cash for some.

K2 makes a nice set of both high and low beams...but they are expensive.....whatever you chose to go with make sure you get Hella/Osram ballasts and Philips or Osram/Hella bulbs

I'd rather spend 300 in a mod... and tape 50 flash lights to my car tather than spend 300 on a HID kit. Im happy with my stock headlights.. + arent they illegal? That's one more thing to get pulled over..

I spent over 500 for my new Catz 4500K kit with Hi and Lo. There ain't many HID kits out there that are better that it. The kit comes with bulbs shields and all to reduce the glare and they don't look ricey with all that damn blue and purple.

HID's are well worth it but you better buy them before 8/15/03 because they may be illegal for sale in the US after that date.
