man am i psyched... it's my first race in my max after owning it for nearly 1 year. I beat the bimmer without a prob, although it didn't seem like i was pulling on him much, kinda stayed even. I shut it off after 2nd gear cuz of a turn coming up.. but i had him by about a carlength by then. I'm a decent driver, but don't have much race experience.. so my shift was kinda sloppy.. although my launch was good. I'm no expert on bimmers so someone tell me what power this car might have had.. It was a 3 series coupe, obviously no M3, late 90's.. i'd say maybe 96 or so. It was a stick too and seemed pretty stock, with a kid who's ego got deflated really quickly.

Well, you have your choice 328, or 325. It probably wasn't a 318 since those are hatchbacks. Both the 328 and the 325 had about 190hp back then. The bimmers really shine on the highway. They aren't drag racers. If you ever found a 3 series with the sport suspension some good rubber and a good driver. It would be tough to keep up. You would be out machined.

3-Series

1/4 to 3/4 of mile you can take a 328 if you are a good driver. After that they will pick up pretty quick. If you are moded it should be an even matched. I am stock and I toasted a 328-5sp for 3/4 of a mile from a stand still. I am above average when it comes to driving. Most aren't so they never see the front of a 328.

came in sedan form as well. It's the 318ti that was a hatchback. Look out, I hear the hatchback is coming back...without the dinky 4-cylinder.
