HIDS from Freddy? (97GLES)

been waiting for HIDS for a very long time and i think its almost time to buy. I was gonna buy them from Agent47 (angelas 8000k used), but he never responded back (which would make bad business). I am really liking the 8000k kit that freddy has to offer. I know a handful of you has purchased his kits.

Are they easy to install?
Are they worth the purchase?
What color do they disburse?

Any pics would be GREAT!

Its not bad business, selling an aftermarket HID kit is no longer legal. It's been discussed in the forum extensively. DOT has passed a law against aftermarket HIDs and they are not to be sold to consumers anymore if sellers don't want to be find thousands of dollars per unit sold.

Authorized vendors in the forum should or already are trying to comply with the new law. Still you can probably get HIDs from someone who is willing to take the risk of getting caught. They're out there somewhere.

i wanted to purchase them from Agent47, a regular person, not a dealer. I was just saying it was bad business due to the fact that my emails are not responded to and consistent contact is not available. You are completely correct about DOT passing the law, but isn't it true that if you purchase them before Aug. 15th and can prove you did (maybe with a receipt), you cannot be ticketed for it?

Hey..

Thought HID selling was legal until the 15th. I suppose i was mistaken, but i can provide some input about the Hanabi kits as i just purchased one from Freddie yesterday. The installation process was done by Freddie on my car. While watching him do it, it seemed very self explanatory. Simple-plug and play. The light that these HIDs give off is absolutely amazing. I wasnt able to purchase the 8000k kit, but did get the 8600k kit. I have no complaints. The difference in light is insane. Again, no regrets in spending the cash on these suckers. The light my kit gives off is inbetweenn a blue and purple color (skyblue?). I recommend getting them asap. You'll be glad you went for them.

So is Freddy just a person selling HID's for fun or is he an actual retail seller for these HID's?

Yea but I'm sure some time later, they will probably crack down on those sellers online too. Who knows. I'd definitely get an HID kit if there was a head lamp projector for our car but since there's none, no HID's for me.

Well the projectors focus the HIDs better so we won't blind people.

No your visibility will be great. But you will be blinding every driver coming at you. But see the thing you can do is just aim your headlights down. That helps out a lot. That way you don't blind people. I'm getting mine this week.

i'm planning to go pick them up from freddy this week (all the way from philly..ouch.) and have them installed. I'm planning to go with the 8000k kit. Its not hard to adjust the headlights, is it? I dont want to be getting pulled over for that.

when are you going mforrest100?

Well I just talked to someone who has bought the 8600K kit from Freddy and he said that Freddy doesn't have any 8000K kits because there was some kind of fitment issues with that kit so all he has is 8600K. I was actully going to get a set from Ange because she has the 8000K kit for $349.99. Hers also has a 9 month warranty. But give Freddy a call and find out if he has the 8000K kits back in. Right now I'm a little confused because I wanted to get the kit with the white purple look but everyone is telling me that they look pink. So I would like to know if Freddy has the kits with the purplish look to them and also how long is the warranty on his kits. If someone can help me out with this, this can help me make a better decision. And also, how much are hs kits?

No matter how low you aim the headlight, you'll still blind people (just not as badly) because of the way the headlight reflectors are. A number of people with HID's can attest to this. If you aim too low, it will affect your ability to be able to see a distance ahead of you at night. Projectors lays down the light better and the beam pattern will be tight, not scattered like the way our headlight reflectors do.

i talked to freddy today and he said he has about 4 boxes left in his place (numerous at warehouse) and 2 of the 8600k kit. Freddie did not say anything about a fitment issue in regards to the 8000k kit, so i'm a bit confused now myself. 8000k is a pinkish light? Freddie stated that this kit gives off a whitish-bluish color (with a small hint of purple), while the 8500k kit gives a more whitish and more purplish color. Also, this kit comes with its own starter as well (whatever that is.) the 8000k kit pickup is 350 while the 8600k kit is 385 pickup. I'm not too sure whats gonna happen with this law on august 15th, but i'm going to just go ahead and pick them up. i've been waiting for over 5 months and all i hear are good things about the HID kits. I will pick them up thursday morning and let you all know w/pics

I wish we had projectors that can accompany the HID kits.

I also like how these HIDS will not be hot like the halogens we currently use.

Thanks for all the info chillenmax. I was just talking to one of his customers which told me the thing about the 8000K kits. Thats why I siad you should verify it thats all. But that sounds like he has a good deal going with him. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Now I am also looking at a kit on ebay from Liteglow. I know it isn't the safest place to shop but the seller has over 50000 in feedback, the kit is an 8000K which cost $309.95+shipping, they include HELLA ballasts, and the greatest thing they are saying is that they come with a lifetime warranty. I'm am really concerned with warranty because this is too much money to be spending to onoly have 9 months to a year warranty. I'll have to decide soon. Does anyone know about this pinkish look that they say Ange's kit has on the 8000K white-purple kit? Even she told me it has that look when I really want just the purple. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

liteglow has no credibility in my opinion. When it comes down to name brand, credibility, along with customer's experiences, has EVERYTHING to do with a transaction. It all sounds very nice, but you cant really rely on the seller's feedback ratio. I'm pretty sure he didnt sell 300000000 HID kits. Also, a lifetime warranty, but what guarantees that? If one of your ballasts go bad, do you rely on an email? i dont know, but my belief is if something is built to last, you dont need a warranty of that nature.

Example: Hyundai- 10 yr 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. How is Hyundai ranked with the other import cars?? hmm......

I've seen liteglow develop underbody kits for cars, and from what i heard, do not come close to street glow. I've been in the hunt for HIDS for the longest, and I think I will go with one of Freddie's Hanabi kits. I also heard that his customer service is EXCELLENT. (and i've been hearing that for a long time now). I have not heard much of Angelas kits except that they dont have as much color as some of the other kits out there. I almost went with one of her kits, but she never emailed me back w/information. *shrugs*

I'm confident that you will make a wise decision. Remember, you get what you pay for in life. (IMO). If its too good to be true, it probably is.

Good luck man! (sorry for the as*s post)

Here's 2 pics for you. I have Hanabi/Z-Max 8000k HIDs in my heads and fogs. Both bought from Freddie. I highly recommend both the kit and Freddie. They are very blue so don't get them if you want white.
Freddie is a great seller with great customer service I may add....

thanks to all for the kind words.

thanks to Tony for backing me up and the HOT picks of his car.

first of all i have only 2 kits of 86k 9004. it has a mix of light blue with a hint of purple, it come out white (no pink). i was told that we but an order in 1 week ago for more 86k kits, they should be here in 10 days. we just have to see what happens after Aug15.

we had a mix up at the warehouse with the 8k bulbs being miss packed and we took care of it. i have plenty of 8k 9004. it has a nice blue to it.

i would like to clear some things up. up to this point no one is make projection hid housing for the 4th or 3rd gen max. even those that have halogen projection housing go back to oem housing when installing a set of hids.

#1 question is when is custommaxima going to come out with projection headlights? sorry i don't know, i don't even know if he will make them for hids or just halogen.

as for the rest of the kits out there or even scams you guys buying hids should be on a high look out. like fake hella kits made in china and not germany, or kits made by a good known company that has nothing to do with hids, or the same kit being sold by many but with different names & color cover and boxes (like niteglow is the same as globalpremeir as the same as the ebay seller sell2all and so on). we drop that line almost 1yr ago because they didn't want to upgrade the product and take car of the problems.

you guys never see me bashing another org member selling hids. i just don't get in it. i have been selling hids here for almost 3 yrs & have sold almost 300 kits here.

i'm sorry to see how many ppl trust ebay, it's a shame.

i back-up Ange when she said all that sell here on the org should show some kind of proof of who they are just like we do. there would be alot less scams going around here.

this, in no way is directed to Ange(97maxgurl) or Greg(custommaxima) they are good trusting ppl that i have delt with, i sometimes buy from them and don't have to think twice with whom i'm dealing with. both have helped this org grow.

if you need info call me at 201-993-3633
and i will give you all the info you need.

the Z-max/hanabi hids are in the group deal forum. you can order or pick-up the kit you want.

I had freddy (97GLES) install my 8000k HID kit AND help with some rewiring(that was wrong.) Now, i can fully see the street (and how blue the world is). Freddy was a great guy-he gave us sodas on the hot NY day. Although the ride up there and back was crazy long (2 hrs each way plus traffic), it was worth all of it. Freddie, if you are reading this, you were great business. Thank you =o)

I can't wait for my 8600k kit. I got the last one (of the existing stock) from Freddie, hopefully the power outage won't delay mail

I really hope he'll get my express mail & ship it out Friday afternoon

I swear these HIDs mess with your mind. I used to have PIAAs in the side markers and they looked sooooo blue as did the bulbs in my doors. When I finally got to turn them on at night it made them look YELLOW. My neighbor has a BMW X5 w/ stock HIDS and his lights which always amazed me how nice they were turned yellow. Next time I have to take a picture, we lined up his X5, my maxima, and my friends 2003 Altrima w/ stock HIDS and mine blew them out of the water. You da man Freddie!
