DIY Intake

I was thinking of building myself and intake because I don't have the money to buy one with rent and insurance and going to school. I read what the FAQ said about the different types of homemade ones but I wanted to hear peoples opinions direct from the source. I don't really race my car (at least not yet) but I have a heavy foot when I drive around town and would like any extra power I can get. Based on the FAQ it sounds like a hybrid might be right for me. What are your opinions?

Since money is tight, you can get one on eBay. The money that you are going to spend on a home made intake is a little less than eBay intakes.

By driving around town do you mean stop and go? If so this will not increase power at all. It will give great sound but lower low end power.

What RPM ranges are boosted by the DIY hybrid intake and which lose power.
Same question for the ebay popcharger

For DIY, what is the p/n of the K&N cone filter? I looked on the shelf but couldn't figure out which one was correct for Maxima intake...

usually you lose a little power in the low-mid with the mid-pipe and gain on top, gain on top and don't lose with pop and factory piping(both from experience), and cold air: no experience, so i will tell no lies.
