99 Maxima Springs Question

99 Maxima Springs Question
I know that this has been asked and answered, but I can't use the search engine right now, so please bear with me.
I have a 99 GXE for the girlfriend. I/we would like somewhat better suspension on it, but are tight on funds, as everyone is these days. a friend has a 96 240 SX SE model that she put eibach springs on. Would the 240 springs fit the Max? If so would they lower the car at all, or simply provide a slightly stiffer suspension?
If not that, does anyone have leftover SE springs to get rid of?
Thanks
Donald

seeing that the 240sx is rear wheel drive...the springs will be a lot different than that of a maxima
the rear springs will be stiffer and the front springs will be softer to compensate for the different weight loads in the front and rear.
also, you'd have to check the diameter of the coils and make sure they line up with ours...which it probably won't.
so basically...no it won't fit and please don't try...because it'll probably make the car dangerous to ride in. even different gen maxima springs don't really fit properly...so a totally different model with different drivetrain will be even worse.
if you're tight on funds, check out the F/S forum for 4th gens, and look for some used springs...

I dont think it'd be worth it to put SE springs on, I doubt you would even feel a difference. You would be better off saving some money up and getting KYB GR-2s and some Maxspeed springs, handling will improve but the ride won't be too harsh.

Thanks for the input. Dev, don't worry I have no intentions of doing anything that is going to make the car dangerous. I was told that "perhaps they might fit" hence asking on the forum before attempting anything so strange. Due to the same 240 friend buying 300Z wheels, I now have the 240 5 stars on the Max instead of those steel wheels and hubcaps. That with nearly new tires for 100 was too good to pass up, and still looks nearly stock. Most likely I'll just wait a little longer and get her maxspeed springs, as multiple people have told me about them. Are there any springs I should stay away from?
