HELP! problem with my brakes

when i started my car up this morning i noticed that my ebrake light wouldnt go off. the ebrake was off and it seems to be driving normal so what else would cause this? also is it safe to drive or does this light go off if your regular brakes arent working right?
thanks

Thr first thing to check is the fluid level in the master cylinder. If your brakes pads are worn down, more fluid is drained from the master cylinder into the system, cauusing the light to come on. You should also check tomake sure the ebrake cable is releasing fully.

If the brake fluid level is okay, check the brake light bulbs.
