cheap vs. expensive FSTB's

what's the difference? I see front strut bars on custommaxima.com for $68....and I see front strut bars on ebay for $10. does the material differ or something? basically what i want to know is which one should i get?

Its the same thing, the more expensive one might be all nice and pretty with a name on it or some design. The ebay ones are just the bar and it does what its supposed to do and not that bad looking. I have one

They should all function the same as long as its not made out of plastic. The custommaxima and Stillen ones just look a little nicer. So basicly you are paying for a name and better looks, not something that will work any better...

procarparts.com has a pretty good looking fstb for a decent price. cheaper than custommaxima atleast. theyre all the same if you ask me, you could pay $150 for a nismo fstb or $10 for an ebay version and they will perform the same.

Someone posted this I think last month, he said that he pulled on an ebay FSTB and the whole car moved. However when he pulled on the stillen one the bar started bending and the car didn't move at all...

I wouldn't get a FSTB from Ebay ... at least get it from a semi-reputable dealer like procarparts.com.

And after putting on the FSTB, you won't feel a huge difference, you'll notice a small one; another reason not to spend money on an expensive bar. Save your money for something else.

You will only notice a slight difference in hard/fast cornering with a FSTB, it jsut firms up your front end. It's not a sway bar. A Rear sway bar will make more of a difference in handling. A rear strut tower bar, not to be confused with the rear sway bar, won't make much of a difference.

they will all do the same, design and name makes some more expensive than others. fstb doesnt do much difference but it does something and is not too expensive thats why besides an intake, its one of the most popular first mods to get for cars...

I agree. When I installed mine I didnt notice too much of a differnce. When I installed my FSB bushings, to me , that was more noticable.

Im under the asuption that all bars are the same. Stillen's bar is pretty. Ebay is cheap. Anyway my point is get what ever bar fits you most (style, price, color).

If you dont care to show off and only care for functionality, go with ebay.

keep in mind the stillen bar is solid alum. many cheap bars out there are hollow steel/alum.

got my custommax FSTB and it looks good and is sturdy. By the way do u make the bar push outward or pull inward?

The difference is looks, but try not to buy the cheapest one, because they could be made really bad. You get what you paid for. My friend bought one off ebay, and it sucked. The paint start chipping and the bar itself looks very cheap. That's why it was $15.
