No I put the Z06 line in there but accidentally put it in his quote, and to show you off.

By the way I just did my super custom-stock intake mod. Things you need: 2 couplers from autozone($5 each with included clamps) and a 3" ID exhaust pipe from autozone($1.50 it's about 3"x4"). The intake goes likethis, coupler>stock, square resonator > coupler > midpipe > coupler > maf > cone filter. After about 10 miles of driving 2 things are very apparent, 1) 1st and 2nd gear are way more responsive and aggressive. I can be going 40 let off the gas for a sec or 2 put my foot back on the gas and not have to wait for the bit of lag that used to be there. 2) the shifts are more aggressive, the 1>2 shift actually jerks the car slightly forward and has much more pickup. I've only been up to 65mph or so and didn't get a chance to see the 2>3 shift. It did exactly what I needed, the low-end loss is gone and I'm happy. This is just after a few miles but I'll report on it as the days go by...

Now put both pieces of paper over each other and hold them up to the light, you can clearly see that the after market midpipe intake LOSES power until 4900rpm, end of discussion.

thanks for the data Street... now, I'm STILL tryig to fid out where to put that darn sensor with the rubber grommet.. do i drill into the resonator?

Are you talking about the one that was connected to your air box? If so that is the intake temp sensor, you can zip tie it close to the filter or just let it hang, your 02 sensors will pick up any slack if it miss reads temps.

Is that the sensor you are talking about?

That's the sucker. I didn't know how important it was to have that sensor in the direct pull of air from the throttle body

It does nothing, as far as I can tell. It was right by my filter sucking in hot air so what I did is I extended the sucker to right behind the grill. The air is COLD there even when the car is parked. No difference in performance whatsoever, NADA...

I have a question about the injen if someone can answer me. I noticed that there are different model numbers of CAIs for the 95-97's, 98's, and 99's. What differs throughout all the models and maxima years?? I'm just wondering so I don't buy the wrong one.

i thought this thread was dead. anyway, i think the year differences more has to do with the MAF and design of how it attaches and fits, with different connectors, the bends of the fenders dont differ that much

i belive the difference is in the mounting bracket for the lower pipe.. either way you're going to have a few simple fitment issues that you can work out easily.

well....since my car is a 99 with a mid 98 build date, and they have a different CAI for the 98.5 and 99....you see where I'm stuck.
