There is a device which is bolted to two bolt hols car into the USIM plenum in the rear corner closest to the driver. It has a few vacuum lines and electrical connectors...

1) What is this?

2) My MEVI doesn't have these bolt holes in it. Looks like I'll have to fab up a mount. What did you guys do about this?

evap canister purge volume control valve, you will have to fab a mount or zip tie it... you will also notice the big vacuum hose that goes into the side of the manifold is too big! be creative.

 

What is that whole big-assed assembly bolted to the massive port on the plenum in the corner of the manifold between the TB and the EGR, and do I need a new gasket for it when I install the MEVI?

I don't mean the evap canister purge doohickey - I mean the thing below it.

 

Idle Air Control Valve,, gasket is very reusable since its metal.. you might want to get one just in case.. i would definitely recommend a new throttle body gasket though and don't forget to catch the egr gasket when you unbolt it. if you do order an egr gasket, search for the correct number here, nissan's database is wrong.
