rear deck vents

rear deck vents
The vent son the rear deck that i assumed were for the A/C reciculation aren't hooked up to anything. Is this normal, or am I mising some duct work. I really notice when I put stinky items in the trunk only to have the smell permeate the interior. I've got a 98 SE.

those are vents to the trunk. They are just a vent that allows the trunk to "breathe". No, you are not missing any duct work.
