Air intakes

To make a makeshift air intake, you get the cone filter, the pvc and then an adapter to match up the pvc and engine, right?

and what kind of adapter is needed?

WTF? No, buy some cone filter off ebay for a 91-99 maxima that comes with the adapter($15 shipped). Go to AUTOZONE and get a 3"ID metal pipe(3"x4", $1.5), 2 couplers($4.99 each), and a 3" coupler from Home Depot(without clamps, $5.50). This is how my intake is, a prototype and ONE of a kind as far as I know, for the last week or so. Throttle body > coupler > stock resonator(plastic square with 3 nipples > 3" metal pipe > coupler > MAF > coe intake. Lot better than just a pop-charger or just mid pipe with cone filter...
