What the f*ck is that noise?!!

I swear my Max creaks like an old wooden house or ship! The noise sounds like it's coming from the front, under the hood, sorta in the lower region. It occurs at different times: braking, accelerating, coasting, cruising, start-up.

Please don't say engine mounts...

Just kidding. Have you taken a look at your mounts at all?

Mine has creaked like an old fishing boat for a while. Gonna finally be getting around to putting my blues in up front, whenever advance auto can get me that darn dust boot, so hopefully be able to take a look while it's on stands.

I thought it might be a bushing...

If I come across anything I'll let you know...hopefully next weekend.

could it be your hood? mine shakes, rattles, and rolls. well...doesn't roll, but the rattling drives me nuts. just moves slightly but i don't know what to do, all contact points look fine.

no aftermarket suspension stuff...all original stock (4.5 years old), so it may be time to replace that stuff anyway, but it's not causing any problems right now.

the noise i'm hearing isn't constant...it's most common at start-up in the morning, and pops up periodically throughout the day; and it's not a rattling metal sound, but a deeper "creaking" is the only way I can describe it.

probably the dash, lots of plastic and vinyl parts there that have friction when rubbing against each other as the chassis flexes
