Yep, a lock smith should be able to extract it.

it's not easy to do it yourself....i broke a key once in an ignition (which i'm sure is more complicated than just a lock) but if you do it carefully you'll be able to take it out.

You could get a tiny stick, and put some sticky stuff on the end and try to pull it out. Justr an idea.

My brother broke his ONLY key off in his ignition on his Mx-6. He was too lazy to get it fixed, so he left half of it in, and he would just stick the other half in when he would want to start his car. Suprisingly enough, it never got stolen... but the car ended up needing too much maintenance so he got rid of it.

why not take some JB weld/crazy glue put it on the end you have and try to temporarily use that to remove the piece stuck in the lock.

LOL!!! This is the best suggestion in this thread so far. I was going to respond to the locksmith "might no what to do for some reason" (LOL @ that too btw)and suggest that a plumber or a carpenter or a taxedermist might be a better choice, but you can't **** with comedy like this.

Same thing happened to me on my old 1990 Camry. Just left it like that for months but it's not like anybody would want to steal a 10 year old Camry anyways. Well maybe they would, actually. Now that I think about it, it is like the most stolen car ever - Gen2 Camrys. Parts market is hot because those cars never die.
