Belts Squealing on start up?
Ok i've searched and to my surprised nobody's had this problem and posted about it. I just changed my belts and my idler pulley recently (the idler pulley was used) and now i get a terrible squealing from my belts when i start the car. Right before i changed the idle pulley i had the same problem so i don't think its that although it could be. Is it common for drive belts to squeal because maybe the tension on them is too tight or too lose? I hope its one of those cause that's the cheap way out. The squealing stopped at first when i'd put the car in drive or reverse, but now it doesn't stop till i drive it for a bout 5-20 seconds... its more of an annoyance than anything so if theres an easy fix i'd apprecated it. Thanx

the main belt, first off you remove the front wheel, remove the protector which has like two plastic clips and two 10MM bolts, then grab a 12 or 14MM closed end wrench loosen the nut on the side of pulley thats on the adjuster. You grab an extension a 14mm socket and proceed to tighten the belt, when your done you tighten the belt proceed to tighten side nut you just loosened. If you dont loosen the side the nut believe me you will strip some ****.
Now the shorter belt, grab a 12mm closend wrench and loosen the nut on the side of the engine, grab an extension or two along with a swivel, and a 11MM socket, loosen the bolt and it will sinch down the shorter power steering pump belt.
"REMEMBER THE SHORTER BELT TO TIGHTEN THE BOLT IS TO LOOSEN THE BELT, TO LOOSEN THE BOLT IS TO TIGHTEN THE BELT"
all caps this is very important if whom ever dont like my caps dial 1 800 WAA-AAAA.
