I have the same problem. I did a full tuneup, but it's still there. I'm missing a hose clamp where the MAF connects to the resonator so I know I have a small air leak.
I'm going to try and clean the MAF sensor with rubbing alcohol and I'll replace the O2 sensors soon. Need to get an intake and y-pipe

Forgot to check the signature box, but I got an auto My mom can't drive a stick so she needs an auto, so I have an auto so she can drive my car to work if something happens to her car. My car is the family "backup" car
Plus, no one to teach me a stick One of my uncles will come here in a few months and I'll probably get a 5-spd beater so he can teach me
The tuneup is easy, I did it a few weeks back. Just remove the whole intake thing (like when you're cleaning the TB) to give you enough room. Clean the TB and IACV while you're at it

what about the egrc solenoid valve?
it's right around where the knock sensor is... it has 3 hoses coming out from it...
when mine was connected badly it threw a code and i was getting incredible lag... I had NO power at all at all... i swear i lost 20hp just from that!

Easiest way to learn is to do burnouts......
Then, just use less and less gas and clutch until you have a nice smooth start. Best done in a $35 a day rental car. P.S. Get the $5 a day insurance too.

I'm having these problems too! Please help! I have a 99 ES Max with 85K (km's, I'm Canadian) on it. There's hesitation under WOT all the way but especially past 4K RPM's. It's awful. I have replaced a bad ignition coil, all the others have been tested and they're fine (even stealership said that and its not under warranty anymore) I've changed my spark plugs to NGK Iridiums, BKR5E-11 or something, it was the proper ones. I've replaced my fuel filter, my air filter is ok too. Car is completely stock. What is this problem???

stephen. just do a regular tune up, fuel filter, get only super gas like i did when i owned the car, and the injen cai is supposed to have the tube exposed. it is to let extra air that is sitting in the top out. it is like an air blow off valve. i put it in, so i know. if you still dont believe me, look in the directions inside the box with the stock intake parts in it. the injen directions are in that box. peace Vinny

Thanks. I'll do the TB cleaning soon and diagnostics too. I just checked my KS via instructions posted elsewhere on the .org and its fine, I think. Reading around 562 ohms. Hopefully its just the TB, cause that KS is going to be a major pain to replace.
