Im kinda broke so im going to buy a cone filter and some 3' tubing to make my own intake for the time being... i was wondering if i need a pipe, however, with a 90 degree bend, 30 degree bend or anything like that?

Or check HAI. All I did (but I dont recomend this) was cut the MAF so I could clamp the filter to it. I made a mid pipe and it is straight, but if you want a CAI you would need a bend. It's all about where you want to locate your filter.

You dont have to cut up the MAF to attach a filter. There is a piece in the top of the OEM air box that can be removed and attached to the MAF.
