The CAI is more restrictive than a POP simply because of the long piping. Ultimate peak flow in a POP may be a bit better, but a CAI is better than a POP in that the air temp is more consistent in temperature, it doesn't change so much as a POP does. Also, the CAI flow is very straight going through the MAF because of the long tubing. The POP needs a velocity stack whereas the CAI does not.

the rain can't shoot up vertically BUT it can be sucked up, which it seems like you forget is what the engine does, so the water can get up there regardless

From what I've read, the CAI just exhaggerates the lacking top-end of the USIM. In many other car's with great top end, such as VTEC engines and VVTL-i, CAI perform better than SRI. I personally wouldn't get a CAI unless I had MEVI.

dont drag us down any more, lol... weve essentially beaten this issue to death. air takes the path of least resistance blah blah blah... we're done

the difference in power on intakes is like 1 - 4 hp its not even worth all this debate, pick whichever one gives u the most driveability and u'll be happy

since a shorter intake is better at high speeds, and a CAI is better at low speeds... what gives better results on the drag strip? (without ram air or anything tricky)

short ram because ur in the upper rpm range alot more at the drag strip than down low

i thought that cold airs were good off the line because it was instant cold air on tap. and a short ram was bad at first because hot air in the engine, and better the faster you go because the air flow gives it cold air. so is it car speed or RPM?
