Does anyone ( with a FSM or good electrical skills ) know if it is possiable and/or easy to only have the guages and other interior lighting( and dimming ) turn on when the headlights ( not parking lights! ) are on?

We have a lot of couldy/crappy weather here in WNY, so I find myself driving quite often with just my parking lights and fog lights on. I would like to "undim" my clock and radio and have the guage lights remain off.

I know I could install a switch for the clock ( which has been done before ) but:

1. I don't really want to deal with a switch, I would like to re-wire this and just have it always be this way.

2. I want it to include the guages.

3. I still want all the lighting ( and dimming ) to happen when I turn on my headlights.

Ha ha.

Yes, I have a dimmer....but that only adjusts the birghtness of the guage lights, which I would like not to come on unless the headlights are on.

That doesn't address the clock and radio either.

Well... I thought it dims the clock as well. As for the radio... I have an aftermarket HU so it doesn't dim that...
