Are our rear rotors different from the fronts? Reason being is my friends brother put my breaks on this morning (i am at work right now) and he said my front rotors needed to be re surfaced which he did and the rear ones are to thin to be re-surfaced, but they are the same age.

2) where is the cv joint located and is it visible to see if it is defective? I get slight knocking when going over bumps from 20mph and slower. the shocks and struts I am told are fine.
