I lost to....

A Chevy Silverado! Since we can post on weekends, i thought i'd share, got to be honest about this, but i did lose . We lined up at the red light. I have NEVER practiced launching..... I have an 0304.....the last owner never gave it a tune up at 90K, so i gotta do that....i am auto...right when the light turned green, he jabbed, but i jabbed it after when he was one car ahead( avery bad launch, the tires didn't make noise either) because i was having a hard time seeing, because the person behind me was an SUV, and he had VERY bright Lights, my eyes are kind of sensitive to really bright lights. Well, we went at it... We went up to 75, and THEN i started gaining on him, not fast, VERY slowly, but shut down anways, don't want it get too dangerous no matter what if i win or loose...the A/c was off by the way... What the heck happened?

Don't know if it was modded anyhow...did look stock.

wow... I wouldn't tell to many people about that.
In your defence siverados are suposed to run low 18s stock.
BUT they run mid 8s 0-60, so it must have been a TERRIBLE launch.
It's stories like this that renforce our "Family Sedan" image.

I totally forgot to tell you! the place wasn't level, it was going slightly up hill at first, then when i let off, it started to go down hill.

should have worked in ur favor considering he's heavier. anyway, the bad KS can take away over a 1.x seconds in the 1/4 mile, get that fixed, and you would have owned him or at least been closer

I guess you all need to see more Chevy Truck vids. These truck can haul with a few mods. Modded they can beat most cars that go to the track.

It was a 2001+ 2WD Silverado and extended cab, it has 285hp/325tq and will run mid 15s@88mph+. If it was a 4WD then it's a lower 16 second truck. The 1999-2000 were marginally slower.

The thing about these trucks is that they scoot off the line a bit better than an auto Max. If you get a slow start, it will take a while to make up the difference. You were gaining on him, so I'd figure you would have past him if it was a 1/4 mile race.
