help: weird sound accelerating

ive been getting this annoying sound when i normally accelerate. its like what an old toyota previa sounds like, just a little quieter. through 1000-2500rpm i can hear it but once it hits around 3500+rpm it goes away. its coming from around the pulley assembly area (left side of engine) but i cant seem to find out where it is exactly. any ideas?
