Did some mantience, have some questions.

Well I had some questions, I did some mantience yesterday and I had a couple of questions. I changed my oil, I have no problem there everything went fine like usual. I drained my automatic transmission fluid and people said that 4 quarts came out and 6 came out of mine so I put 6 more in is that fine? Also I changed the fuel filter, took less than a minute but I touched my steering wheel and I had some gasoline on my hands how do I get the smell out? I wanted to change my spark plugs but I do not know how to. Is there a write up fro changng spark plugs also where are the rear sparks located?

Okay good mechanics suck, becuase this was my first time doing it and this is my first car. Take a screwdriver and loosen the clamp on the intake and take it off. Look down grab the fuel filter and unclip it from the firewall. Grap a screwdriver and lossen the top fuel hose clamp and pull from fuel filter. Fuel filter will have some gas in it and maybe the line have a towel handy under the fuel filter. Put the top fuel line on the new filter. Lossen the clamp on the bottom fuel line pull off and put old fuel filter on towel. Put bottom fuel line on fuel filter and then tighten clamps. Clip fuel filter back on firewall. Put intake back on, tighten clamp, hookup MAF sensor back on, don't forget that. Go sit in the car, crank car a couple times till it starts. Time taken 1 - 2 minutes.

Damn, you must have hands the size of a little kid. I scraped my hands pretty badly when I changed my fuel filter.

ha !ha ! did you take out the whole air intake assembly ain air filter box to gain more working room? Once these are out, I could change the fuel filter in 2 minutes myself. No mention about the time to remove the air intake.

Well, you definitely won't change fuel filter in less than a minute, but you can make your workspace much spacious and reach FF in less than a minute. When I was changing mine few days ago I simply removed air filter assembly. Unscrew few srews to release clamps, snap the hoses off and you're all set!!! Less than a minute!!! lol

Ya for me it is just untighting a clamp and pulling out MAF sensor and removing the whole thing and pull hoses off. I just have a popcharger. I have pretty big hands actually, I don't see why everyone is having problems doing this. I used a small phillips for the fuel filter clamps and a flathead for the intake clamps it is not hard at all.

Since were talking about mantience I have a question, do you need to fill the antifreeze reservoir to the MAX or keep it at the MIN? Thanks, David.
