Lowering

I want to drop my car...since funds are low, i'm thinking of just putting lowering springs on stock shocks. Is it alright if i do that? What are the consequences?

My ride sucks because i have stock struts/shocks with Intrax srings. I don't think it handles much better than stock. The stock dampeners are not strong enough with the car lowered. For the winter i'll be putting the stock springs back in and hopefully the struts/shocks are still good. If i could do it again i'd get struts/shocks first then springs.

how much money do u wanna spend?

i would not recamend use springs on stock struts, when stock ones blow u gotta do more labor to put new ones in instead of having springs and shocks put on at same time

why do it twice when u can have it done right the first time?

Consequences are blown shocks. Blown shocks=nasty, bumpy, harsh ride. Just wait until you save enough for both.

Thats what happened to me. Save up and do both at the same time.

Of course it's alright. The lower the drop though, the more likely the
struts/shocks will die sooner. I installed Maxspeed springs on stock
struts/shocks and have no problems for 8 months now. However, I
installed them myself and could change out the struts/shocks fairly
easily if needed. The argument that it's better to do both at once
will be an individual call because if you're paying someone for the
install, you'll likely pay twice. By the way, Maxspeed springs lower
the car minimumly (about 1.5") so it may be easier on the struts than
say Sprints.

Hmm, springs that drop the car 2" and stock struts, that's stupid. You probably didn't get a camber kit either. Why did you think that the car would handle better when your shocks wouldn't even know what to do with those springs???

Camber kit? Ha, you dont really need them. Who said it would handle better? Not I. I bought the springs waited months b4 putting them in. I was going to get struts, but it was a rainy day, so I put them in. Like I said do it all at once.
