Do your pistons knock when you get on it?
Ive got a 95gxe and Ive noticed that when you smash the accelerator, that it knocks once, and if you gradually get up to speed, its fine. Anyone else have this? Seems to go away with higher octane gas, but Ive never heard of anyone else having this problem. I used to run 87 and it was there every time I got on it, I went 93 for a week and it almost completly disappeared, but I can afford 93 every week. Lol, any help?

What the hell? Me you Never use 87 Octane gasoline on a Maxima when you going to get on the gas. It's bad for the engine! Look at the fuel filler door, and read what it says. What you hearing is detonation or pre-ignition, If you have to use 87 gas then take it easy.
