Hi,

I just realized that the factory wood trim on GLEs only cover up to the audio panel. What about A/C controls and the clock trim? I recalled seeing some Maximas with those area covered with wood, but are those optional factory trim or aftermarket ones? If there are factory molded ones, I might get them along with the audio panel and door pieces. Thanks.

I believe that you can get the 'stickers' for the wood trim from Joshua Wood Trim factory (its an ad on the top of one of these pages) or off of E-Bay. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the cover around the ACC.

I hate the way that looks. I have a GLE and am considering getting a wood dash kit to cover that up. Anyone have any more info on these stickers?

Go here http://www.wooddash.com/item/NISSAN_...s_MAXIMA_95_99 or here http://www.woodtrim.com/catalog_detail.cfm?prod=2014for a diagram and cost of the kit. This kit covers the plastic around the ACC as well as ALL of the other plastic in the car including around the vents and under plastic under the dash.

Wood trim decals

Would the decals match the look of the stock GLE wood trim?

Missing piece

I bought my car used, but didn't notice or realize at first, but I have a piece of the stock wood trim missing. its the one with the hazzard button, and rear defogger button. Is there a way I can get just that one piece that matches the rest of my trim? its the dark looking wood trim.

Look at the dash pic in Ryan93SE's sig. That is how a normal GLE's dash looks except for the actual stereo system. My wood dash (GLE) also does not go all the way to the top. It really bothers me for some reason. The only way I have found to get that wood all the way up is to do a wood dash kit. Joshua is good and AlkaPlus.com also looks good. I have read of some people having problems with their quality. It is cheaper than Joshua though. When I first read this thread I thought someone had actual stickers (like as thin as a sheet of paper) that you could stick up there. That would be neat. An idea anyway.

its missing

Its not supposed to be that way. I've seen other cars with full pieces, I have a 98 SE, fully loaded. Here, I'll show you a pic of it. http://home.earthlink.net/~jbolsue/pics/int_1.jpg
Its not that it doesn't go all the way up, theres a gap in the peices. As you can see where the hazzard and defogger button is.

Beware buying from Alkaplus.com

I purchased the wood trim from Alkaplus.com and wasn't happy the the quality of the wood trim. I had some pieces that wouldn't stick to the dash. I e-mailed them and they said they would send replacements. I have yet to receive them. In the meantime, my dash looks terrible. Once you put them on good luck trying to take them off. Buy the best quality if you buy aftermarket, just my opinion.

Are you sure that pic isn't of an aftermarket dask kit? I see some trim around the guages and I dont think thats stock. Mine has wood trim around everything in the center of the dash except for my climate control, clock piece, and vents. Did your car come stock looking like that pic?

98BlaximaSE, you have a wood kit car. The giveaway is the wood trim around your dash. I am 100% sure that it is not a factory option. A dealer option maybe, but definitely not factory.

Found an interesting press photo on nissannews.com!

A big jpeg file:

http://www.nissannews.com/nissan/99p...axima_02_c.jpg

It's located at nissannews.com Photo library, Under Nissan Vehicles, 1999 Maxima.

Notice the climate control unit and clock trim. A design that never made its way to the production, perhaps? It would be good if they made it that way.

Its a pic of my car, and thats how it came when I bought it 3 months ago. I've seen other max's with full wood trim, all I want to know is if i can get a matching piece to fill the set?

Its a pic of my car. Thats the way it was when I bought the car used about 3 months ago. I think its a factory kit, cause the lower part by the shifter has a nissan logo on it, and I haven't seen that on any of the other kits. Plus I've seen other max's with the same type of kit, just different wood.
