Hi, my name is Michel, I have a Nissan MAxima QX 3.0 SE since a few weeks and on my search for info about my car I've noticed you guys all have other tails then me, is this a US / Euro-spec difference?

And if so, is it possible for me to change the way my tail looks now to the way you US tails look? I think is way better looking, and as far as I can see on photo, the only difference is the trunk-lid with the centre piece(s) of the tail lights... Does somebody knows if it would be possible to fit on a US-spec trunk lid and taillights without having to make body-modifications like cutting and welding?

so you have a maxima inported from japan right? if it is imported from japan, then it is the same thing as a infiniti i30 here. so then you would not be able to switch the back because maximas in the back have different quarters pannels then the infiniti and a different rear bumper.

All the maximas were imported from Japan you tard. His is euro spec. He has a rebadged I30, I think all of europe has I30 bodied maximas. Your light goes all across the trunk. As far as I know there is no way to put our tails on there...

That's really to bad, I can't say I really like the taillight this way... aftermarket parts are allso not available for the QX or the L30... Guess I just have to get used to it. Are there, besides I have a intergrated grill / hood, other big differences between the L30 and the 4th gen Maxima?

it can be done dude. Its just going to cost you some $$$ for body modifications.
If they can turn a G20 into a 4 door GTR I don't see why you can't have USDM Rear end

if you want a different back end, just go buy all the lights in the back from a 1998 and 1999 i30. they look better than the 1996-1997 i30 back ends.

Oh, and our 4 gen maximas don't even exist in japan. maximas over there have the same body as a infiniti i30. infiniti does not exist over there either.
so in japan, they have a maxima that over here is called the i30.

yes it is called eth CEFIRO in japan, also the 98-99 I30 did have red/clear; kind of like a maxima rear end( with red/clear done to it)

or maybe u can try to make ur outer tails red/clear by following hte directions for hte maxima . can someone tell me if that's possible on the I30

First of all, Tony, I saw your car on CarDomain, that's were I got the photo's, I stored them all on my HDD, dude, you have one sick ride there!!! Verrrrrry hot car! Then, to make one thing clear about my car. It is not a infinity, neither a Maxima, it is a Maxima QX, it's half infinity half Maxima as far as I can tell, I have the exact same interior as a Maxima, the Infinity is different, glad for that one! But then again, I have a bodywork that, give or take a few small details, is exactly the same bodywork as the Infinity. My car is not a J-spec, I live in the Netherlands (most of you will now it as 'Holland' that's right! The country in wich you can smoke pod, buy pod and sell pod legaly ) and have my steering wheel exactly were it should be. I really really like my car, but the thing is that I don't like the tail, and I don't have much options. Does anyone here have some pictures of the newer tails that would fit my rear end? If it looks better then the taillights I have now, I will swap them for sure. I would really enjoy a look with clear glass taillights, I don't even care if they would be red, as long as they are clear, but that sure will not be possible I guess...

The other thing I want to get my hand on is the chrome doorhandles for the interior like the infiniti, and Tony ofcourse, he has them allready. Only thing is I don't know how to get four of in in the Netherlands, since we don't have infiniti's

Last thing, for you Ivelweyz:
I'm new here, I know that, but still I want to ask you as a newbe to chill out dude. You are flaming everybody who has something to say that you think is not important, but a lot of info that you think of as 'obvious' is still new info for me, since I don't know jack yet about the Maxima. Everybody that has something to say to me can do so, so don't go shut them up for me, they are talking to me, in my own post, and if I don't like it, I will say so myself. Don't feel attacked by my comment to you, it ain't trying to **** you off, only want this post not to turn in to a flamewar. Have you tried the I30/I35 forum, they should have more ideas for you since they have the same body as you.

P.S.: However callous Ivelweyz may have portrayed himself, the fact is he is helping you as well as helping those posting misinformation. Could he be nicer, sure, but the end result is the same. Better him be rude than have you repeating the wrong info you heard from someone. Anyway welcome to the ORG. I'm glad to see some international members.

Well the problem is, in our region, you don't see many maxima's, there is no specialised Maxima forum for europe So I had to search and search and finaly I got here and thought: JACKPOT! This is what I needed. We do have a Nissan Club in the Netherlands, but it is for all the Nissan's, not just the Maxima, and in that club there are only 2 A32's... and that sucks big time, cause when you want to get info on your car, nobody knows

So I'm very very glad you guys have a Maxima forum like this, it realy rules.

As far as for Ivelweyz, I'm not saying he's a wrong dude or something, and sure, maybe he is right, but I just don't want that someone might feel offended and turn this post into a flamewar. That's all
