Well, I've burned out my Headlight connector and needed to get a new one.

I picked one up, but does anyone know how to install it?
Is it hard? There are 3 wires that need to be attached..

do i need to disconnect the batter before i do anything?

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

First of all why did your socket melt? Are you running the wrong bulbs with higher wattage? Now, yes you should disconnect the battery, unless you like a little bit of juice running through your body. Now just remove the old plug and solder in the new one. thats about it

yep..happens quite often. Keep on replacing those sockets. Doesn't get rather annoying that you have to replace those all the time. LOL. Do a search on headlight harness upgrade. Get the APC harness.

hehe now by what 1max2nv is trying to hint is that if you have more powerful bulbs in you also have to have right connections to handle the power. Thats where the Aps wire harness comes in, it costs $50 and your sockets wont melt, there for you can run your bulbs with no prob.

Tony, you really worked up over this. Hehehe...it's funny to watch you rip on some of these kids when they talk about how they DON'T need an upgrade harness.

I bet 95% of you who try and upgrade the damn lighting system can't even tell a difference. The only reason why I changed mine is so that they would look white vs. yellow. I can live with the inferiorer lighting that occurs as a result.

Agreed with that... I just recently "upgraded" to BlueVisions and I really don't notice much of a difference. They are slightly better than the GE bulbs I had in there before, but nothing to write home about. The basic 9004 design is just too bad to get spectacular lighting out of. I'm considering adding pencil-beam pattern driving lights under the bumper in the lower grille, because I drive on a lot of dark highways and the stock lighting is just inadequate.
