Starter

ok, i have 122,xxx miles on my 96 GLE. I just got it and when I did I paid for a "tune up" which was an oil change and platinum plugs and a "visual" check. Anyways, yesterday I found out i need a new starter because when i try to start it it gets power to the car but wont crank. A mechanic friend of mine said that if you bang on the starter it might start up. Well what do you know, it did...so yea, my question is, what other things should i replace since i am already gonna do the starter??? So far i have di\one the tune up and calipers and brakes...Thanks for the help

New starter about 180 dollars, mine died at 190k, and he's right, it'll start if you bang on it, but new starter or always banging on the old one, the choice is yours.

dunno...i had to replace my old starter. It cost me 249.00 from nissan, I had a friend install it.

Try looking at your solanoids(?) to see if they were melted at anytime during this situation.

Replace your starter.

Aftermarket if you don't mind a rebuilt. Go OEM is you want it "new".
