combo hybrid intake w/ heat shield ?
OK, got a wild idea, just asking for the org's wisdom:
What if i replaced the filter on my short ram intake w/ this one from Reactive
and I attached a flex hose to it to draw in more cold air from the fender?
I searched and found the CAI hurt top end power b/c of their length, and the 4th gens already hurt above 5500rpm. The short rams allow faster flowing air, but suffer from the inhaling heated air from the engine bay.
Would this heat shield setup have the benefits of a short ram while being able to pull cold air in from the fender?
see here how filter points towards fender

I was actually thinking about this exact configuration the other day! Bored at work and was trying to figure out a way to have the best of both CAI and Hybrid. Never seen that heat shield before. I was thinking of the heat shield like frankencar's. Try it and let me know!
