PPL WITH OBX TYPE-H exhaust READ THIS

I bought this exhaust used, just got it in today...There is a Silencer in the muffler so its like a 4.5'' tip and then right inside that there is a smaller tip, and a flat surface surrounding that... there are hex screws you can looosen, and turn the flat surface inside the tip , to open or close slats, im sure to deaden, or undeaden sound.
It looks like the silencer should come out, because if i lookin into one of the slits, i can see that the silencer doesnt go all the way through the muffler. it just sits in the tip... but it doesnt want to come out!~! Its really gay looking and I want it out, but dont want to break something!

can someone with a type H help!?

Tools needed:

Standard allen key (whatever used for inline skates)
pliers

If you didn't look, there is a bolt that is holding the silencer in place. Take the allen key, and take the bolt out. Now, get the pliers, and pull the silencer out. It will be a little hard if you're weak, but you'll get it. Just pull HARD. You're not going to break anything, it's all SS.

And voila, no more silencer!

This was common sense for me.........

Don't forget the hose clamps!

Yea I used to have an OBX exhaust...There is a bolt on the lip of the silencer you have to remove and then it should come out with some tugging. It was really hard for me to get it out. TIP: Don't pull from just 1 side of the silencer....you sorta have to wiggle it out and it will come out slowly

Sorry i dont know how to get it out......i dont have a silencer but i like the idea of one. And would like to beable to silence mine on occasion. The one thing i've been thinkin about those is when the silencer is in, dosent it negate anything gained by a catback? its good flow until it hits that lil exit hole. then, even after you removed it it would take awhile for the ECU to relearn the better flow and all?

you lose like 1 or 2 hp with the silencer and the ECU dosen't adjust for silencer flow...
