before 10-20-2001, maxima.org was full of resourceful information because of him. people can simply post their thread like "ATTN: DMB my balhbalh has problem...help!" and he'll give out the most appropriate solution...

after 10-20-2001, less of resourceful threads are formed, mostly generic threads like "what brand of intake?" etc.. we lost a great resource.

now cry

DBM was that good because he was a mechanic (to the best of my memory) and worked at a Nissan Stealership.

Hey was a DIY guy...and he got most of his info from the FSM...although he did also own the chilton's and Haynes manuals.

Great guy...but it's still a mystery as to why he left. My theory is that he became too involved in the forums and didn't have the time anymore to devote to it so he decided "all or nothing"...turned out to go the nothing direction. He is missed.

He used to post to alt.autos.nissan.maxima on USENET as well. I thought he was a tech but the following post (which mentions that his personal circumstances do not allow him the time to post anymore) says he's a DIYer...dude was hella smart though...

You can search here or Google Groups to find his old posts though...

I loved his advice about using a section of hose to diagnose where weird sounds were coming from under the hood. Makes alot of sense. My theory is he went to jail or got real sick. I can't believe he would have just dumped us like that. Must have been something drastic.
