Help me, car won't start.

Ok, here is my problem. One day out of the blue my CEL came on and I got the codes for Knock Sensor and Crankshaft Position Sensor. So I started reading on here and the knock sensor isn't too big of a deal and I thought maybe when I changed my oil the oil dripped onto the CPS wires and messed them up. Lately I have been getting hard starts so today I decide to check out the CPS sensor by the pulleys, clean it up, and check the wires. The wires look fine and don't seem to have any oil in them so I put it back together and now it won't start at all. I checked the other CPS sensor and it had some metal shavings on it so I cleaned it and put it back together and still nothing. Also, I cleared the codes and nothing is coming back up. Help me, I am stumped.

I believe I read about the crankshaft position sensor recall, but it doesn't affect older nissan's. Something like 1.5 million nissan engines got recalled, at the cost of $15 billion yen to nissan. It wasn't even maxima's....suv's and other cars. Hitachi made some Piece of Sh.. sensors

I also believe that the crankshaft position sensor (POS), if completely shot, won't allow the car to start. You'll have to do a search for proper testing procedures on the POS (such and such ohm reading, clean metal shavings, check shorts)...I don't remember off-hand.
