Wierd Humming...

Whenever I go around 65mph, I get this loud humming...sounds like its coming from the front of the car. If I push the clutch in, the humming is still there. I recently got some new front tires, and I *think* that they sorta mounted one of them incorrectly (insideout). What I mean is that the outside on the left tire is the inside of the right, and vice versa...when both sides should have the same sides of the tire on the outside and inside. Would this be causing the humming?

I was under the assumption at first it was a worn wheel bearing, but wouldn't that be at all speeds. BTW, it doesn't matter what RPM I am at...its always ~65 mph.

You could have a frozen caliper. When mine was frozen, it was making that sound.

What kind of tires. I had some Nitto 450's that were way loud. I thought that the hub and bearing were going but they were fine. I lived with it until I go new tires (Nitto 555's can't say enough about them) and now the annoying noise is gone and everything is quiet.

If it was your wheel bearing I would think you would be able to hear it at any speed (had one go out on my previous eclipse), I really just think it is your new tire.

Thats what I was thinking...if you didnt catch it in my previous post, I have Dunlop Citations. I'm gunna have one of the tires remounted and maybe rotated and see if anything changes. As far as I remember, i never noticed any noise with the old tires....but I have a bad memory so I can't verify that
