Short Circuit?

Short Circuit?
My ABS light gave me a "3-6" code which says that the the Rear Left Sensor (short-circuit). Now correct me if I'm wrong, short-circuit is when + touches a - wire, and open circuit means that a wire is cut right?
If this is a short circuit, is it the sensor that is at fault, or should I take a look at the ABS wiring?
