roaring noise

lately i've been hearing a roaring noise while driving down the highway, the faster i go the louder it gets. it's not just road noises because it's a little different...i can't explain. i definitely know that it's something different cause i've had my car for years now, oh did i mention that it sounds like it's coming from the front left wheel. if anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanking you guys in advance, later

it's not the engine. actually it sounds like a broken belt in the tires, maybe that could be it. i do not know.

Is one of the windows cracked open?

Check the wheelwells, underside, and everything for anything hanging loose and catching air.

Does the sound happen when you rev the engine?

it's has nothing to do with the engine, cause when i'm going slow thru my neiborhood i can hear this strange noise(i can't even think of an example for it), but when the car stops the noise stops. when i begin to move the noise begins again. i can hear it when i barely moving so i know it's has nothing to do with the engine.

Do you have a 5-speed 95/96 by chance?
When the differential bearings go out it makes somewhat of a whirring noise, and it's a common problem for those years.

Brakes dragging? Alternator noise?

Does the noise ever go away while the car is moving?

or a warped caliper/rotor...that's what happened with my vibrating/rumbling noise...luckily, the dealer replaced it free of charge...and they weren't obligated to do that.
