Just got back...14.26@97mph in the automagic
I am too tired to post all the details right now, but I got a personal best 1/8 mile, 1/8th mph, and 1/4 mile. My top end was off tonight for some reason so my 1/4 trap was lower than before even with more mods now. When I get that sorted out I think I can run a 14.0-14.1 @ 99+mph because there is still some left in the car. My best two slips were:
60ft: 2.195
1/8: 9.221
mph: 79.44
1/4: 14.287
mph 97.50
60ft: 2.208
1/8: 9.254
mph: ...
1/4: 14.261
mph: 96.90
Check out that 1/8th mile mph, I think it is the highest I have seen out of any N/A 4th gen , manual or automatic. My previous best was a 14.44@98.19mph. Tonight I was only gaining 18mph from 1/8th to 1/4 mile, which is a little lower than expected. I was gaining around 20mph before. I will post more details tomorrow.

OK, here is my mods list.
This is what I ran at the track when I ran a 14.44@98.19mph.
G-force ECU
Variable intake
Hybrid JWT Intake
Cattman SS Y-pipe
test pipe
B-pipe (non-mandrel 2.5)
Hooker Muffler
Bullet muffler (resonator)
RVM Underdrive pulley
FSTB
RSB
Don's VB Mod
stock 15" wheels with 205/50-15 kuhmo tires.
B&G Lowering Springs
KYB AGX
added since since last track visit:
JWT ECU
70mm Pathfinder TB
Lightweight battery
Larger K&N Filter
other small weight removal (heatshields, etc.)
swapped in Unorthodox racing pulley for my leaking RVM pulley.

Larger filter? Are you still using the JWT intake? I can't imagine the car needing a larger filter than what comes with the JWT Pop Charger. It's 6 inches in diameter damn it. =P Great times. I think my A/T solenoids are dead. I've never had great shifting with my Don's VB mod. The car shifts faster at part throttle than WOT.

That 1/8 mile trap is simply amazing. Maybe your VI was not activating in second or third??? Do the autos hit 3rd in the 1/4 mile? Anyhow, I used to have a harlan and it would open in 1st, 2nd, but not 3rd most of the time. I pick up 21mph sometimes 22mph in the second 1/8 with my JWT-ECU and VI. I am very impressed with that 1/8 trap!!!!

I have been racking my brain as to why my mph fell off on the top end. I am near redline in second right as I am crossing the 1/8th mile mark with my smaller tires. My VI just opens in third gear as I am crossing the 1/4 mile mark. I have a LED wired that lets me know when it is opening correctly. I had my VI set at 5000rpm and I trapped 97.xx 4 times in a row. I changed it to 5300rpm and my traps fell to high 96mph speeds. I think that my knock sensor may be pulling timing in 3rd gear and causing the mid range to suffer there. I also have the pathfinder TB and ran it for the first time. My A/F ratio could be screwed up because of it, or maybe the JWT ecu is just not as strong as the G-force besides the higher redline. I still have it in the car, I should have plugged it in to see if there was any difference. It is weird that 1st and 2nd gear are fine since my 60 ft and 1/8th mile were good, 3rd gear just seems to drop off. One other reason could be that is was pretty cold and tracton was no good. I was spinning most of the way through first and into the shift to second. I thought that spinning was usually good for mph, just not ET? I am still trying to figure it out. I plan to dyno soon and get my A/F ratio checked out. Any more ideas?

Did you run octane higher than 93? The reason I ask is both Mike and myself have run higher octane and have gotten some good results. Overall, on the days I've ran race gas I've usually been my quickest. I did run my best without race gas, but my MPH seem to have suffered a bit in the topend. That day my best was almost 98mph. With race gas I've done as high as 99.5mph. Overall I usually gain high 20mph in the final 1/8th without race gas and high 21s with race gas. My highest is 22mph which is an incredibly strong for an NA motor.
Try a mix that brings octane up to around 95-96 and see how you do. I'm starting to believe that the JWT ECU may advance timing quite a bit and if you don't put some higher test gas in there, the longer gears may experience more detonation and knock retard. Many of us are running higher mileage motors which means our compression is probably more like 10.3-10.4:1 instead of the factory 10.1:1 because of carbon build-up in the compression chamber. Higher compression = more power, but also = more detonation.
I was going to go to the track tommorrow, but the station I get 100 octane from is closed on Sundays and tommorrow is the last race day of the season. It's going to be 55, sunny, low humidity, and good pressure

Other than that I am still stumped about my trap speeds. I am not as happy as I should be about a new personal best because trap speed is more important to me than ET anyway. I honestly thought I would see some 99mph and maybe even eek out a 100.xx mph trap. Any other thoughts on the loss of speed?

In that case your going to have to go the toulene, xylene method. I hope you have access to some DR's or borrow some slicks, it would be nice to run that elusive 13.9 on the last race day

I would bet it's the lack of race gas and the 70mm TB. I would not trust those octane boosters to give you much. The TB could very well be throwing your AF wacky. Is it possible that your LED would light up when your desired rpm is reached but the harlan still flaking out? If you think it is possible I suggest checking the switch after drive when the VI is activated a few times. If it flakes out it will be blinking at you. Don't turn the car off before you check it, it will reset if you do.
When I did not use race gas I was only gaining 18-19mph in the second 1/8 mile

In what way is your MEVI LED hooked up. Is it just running off the RPM switch or is it physically hooked up to your MEVI so that when the bar swings open, the LED illuminates? My harlan though it was working fine, the switch was lighting up at the right RPM (which could be the same situation you are in). All indications were that the switch was opening fine, light was working, etc. Only way I knew it wasn't is that I was slow and when I popped the hood and tested it. The light will illuminate but my MEVI wouldn't open.

I can't hear it open. At 7k rpm I can tell whether it is open or not because of the tone, but I can't detect a tone change right when it opens.
