Hey Mungrin, how is your Maaco paint job working out? I have heard good and bad things about Maaco and Earl S...mainly bad stuff. Peeling and flaking months after the job. Any problems yet?

well, its been like 6 months and the paint is still the same.it also has a 2 yr warranty on it.I know,so many people bash them and they are right. If u want a really good paint job then go to an auto paint place but if u cant afford that then maaco is cool, its just not the same as a real paint place that preps and paints and clear coats.I brought my max in there in the morning and it was ready in the afternoon.Talk about a fast job but overall i was very surpries for the job they did for $250.

My father got into a legal battle with Earl S back in the early 90's because of a shotty paint job they did. He won and the shop owner had to pay for a professional job. Cost him like 2000. My dad has pics and it was just awful. And you are right mungrin they are quick about getting your car in and out. I believe they just cover you parts that arent supposed to be painted with newspaper and tape. A friend of mine has a Civic that he got done there and it looks okay (done about 1 month ago) but the painted his exhaust/tailpipe. Its too funny. I make a crack about it everytime I see him

hahaha they painted my exhaust to though i kinda liked it LoL

my Max was green and so ugly and scratched up so i had it painted black.i know they did take off all the rubbers and stuff.I guess my point is I paid $3800 for my max then paid $250 for the paint job and the next day i had an offer from some guy for $5500 I guess Maaco can be good for some things.

maaco single stage paint jobs may look nice simply because its new paint but they wont last. they also have a hard time paint matching so they will mainly look good when you paint the entire car, and not just single panels.

because of the grade of paint and clearcoat they use, it isnt meant to last. There's been many complaints about the preparation process (which in reality is most of the labour involved in painting a car). having overspray or other parts painted is just a sign that they just want the cars in and out. with all things said, you get what you pay for. I just spent 2300 (on labour) to refinish my 95 max.

to address the original thread request, here's photos of my car with the 97+ headlights. the new headlamps make the car look newer and the lamps seem to produce more light.

enjoy the pics
