*sigh*
I just did a 194 bulb conversion in my 99 max, and one of the bulbs has already burnt out. I only did it a week ago!!! The bulb that burnt out is the one for the digital odometer... which makes sense, since it is the only bulb that stays on day or night. But I am curious/worried when the other bulbs are going to start to die.
It is a pain in the butt to get the gauges out, so I need to find the best bulb out there, that is proven to last a very long time. Does anyone know of a bulb that will last a very long time, and is bright white?? Thanks guys.
Chris

I had those in mine, but they gave a slight purplish tint that I didn't like that much, on the plus side they are good bulbs (I've had them in my corners & courtesy lights since I had the car and haven't had any burn out yet). I'm not saying they look bad in the gauges, they just weren't what i was looking for.Originally Posted by JeEvE
You sure it burnt out? Maybe it is just a loose connection. I was thinking about using Polargs.

you know what you could do..... is just wire the bulb for the odometer up to the other bulbs so it is only on when the lights are turned on, should help bulb life alot

yes, that would work... but the problem still remains that the bulb only worked for a week... so i still need to find a good, long lasting, bright 194 bulb.

my vote still goes for a loose connection..BUT you could use just regular 194/168 bulbs or some of the sylvania long life bulbs, that might help

I actually don't have them in anymore, I only had 4 so I put them in for a few days to see how they looked before I picked up more and I wasn't too happy with the color. Now I have some white 194 LEDs on the way from superbrightleds.com. I'll tell you how those look once I get them in.Originally Posted by myke321
