19"s vs. 17"s
After finally getting my 19"s on (way too much work trying to get them to fit over the brakes), I've finally gotten some driving impressions. The handling seems to be more precise, but the steering is a lot heavier. I kind of like the way the steering is now. But the brakes don't seem to work as well before, but it's still pretty good. Car feels more stable at speed, but cornering seems more ponderous, it's like the car fights me into the turn. Guess that's what the higher rotating weight causes. Weird thing is, the ride isn't anywhere near as bad as I expected, I can't even tell the difference from my old 17"s. I am worried about denting the rims though, guess I'll just have to drive slower. Bottom line, they work for me. My old 17"s were way too small, and I don't race, I mostly just do the show thing. Just posting this because a lot of people seem to want to upgrade their 17"s to larger wheels.
Jeff, lets hook up this weekend
I'd like to drive your car w/ the new wheels and see what it feels like.
Also need to talk to you about some stickers I need cut.
May be sat or sunday day time? When are you working?
I'll call you.
later.

I think that Jay's show is on Sunday, gotta make sure though. If it is, we could meet there. If not, I'm free both days during the day. I still got to take the car to the shop on Thurs. or Friday to get longer wheel studs put in. The wheels needed spacers to clear the brakes, but I'm not comfortable with the reduced number of threads holding the wheels on now and so am getting the longer studs put in. Plus I have to get them to put my front rotors on, I got the Brembo crossdrilled ones, but couldn't install the fronts because the caliper bolts were way too tight.
