I have a problem.

I was driving today, and the exhaust was sounding low and deep just as always, all of a sudden I feel the car lag and kind of pull back and shutter, and the exhaust was making a very strange noise. It sounded like the exhaust was clogged with something, and then unclogging back to normal. I checked the spark plugs nd everything seems cool but it still has a rough idle and is making the noise and losing power when it does make the noise. Any body know what this could be?

Try cleaning your throttle body, make sure you get the right stuff. It has to say something along the lines of..."SAFE FOR ALL FUEL INJECTED ENGINES" or "WILL NOT HARM FUEL INJECTORS." Also, try putting some injector cleaner into your gas tank.

How many miles on your car? You may need a new muffler. Just about the time I hit 200k on my max, after a very long trip, I exerperiences major power loss to the point where my car wouldn't even move. It also made a similar whining sound. It turned out that I needed a new muffler.

I have a little under 140,000 miles on it but i doubt that it is a new muffler because it is a brand new exhaust(rear section) with a muffler with a 4" tip, so i doubt I need a new one, but I was thinking that maybe onre of the other pipes is wearing away, not sure though.

It could also be a bad fuel injector. Mine did something similar, and that's what it turned out to be, though it was still under warranty. Good luck, whatever the problem might be....

I'm leaning more towards the fuel injector problem because if the head gasket one blown, i believe that there would be oil all over the engine bay and in my case there isn't.
