E-brake light coming on/off, how to fix?
guys,
My e-brake light usually comes on when I start to drive initially, then I have to either break hard to turn it off, or sometimes it just goes away by itself after a while of driving. Any ideas, how to fix this issue? Is it a e-brake sensor that is going bad or needs to be calibrated/adjusted?
thanks for your help. btw this is a 97 max.

check your brake fluid. mine used to do that, but stopped and i had it checked out and they said everything was fine.
other people have mentioned their e-brakes failing. i think there was a thread about this this past week so look around. sorry if that's no help, goodluck! (cars suck!)

It could be alot of things.
1. Your brake pads are worn and caused the fluid in the resevior to be low.
2. You are low on brake fluid.
3. A slow leak somewhere
4. The ebrake is stuck
5. Malfunction warning light. - Very unlikely.
