To the Tranny/Clutch Gurus

Soon after installing my nitrous oxide, my 100,000 mi old clutch decided it could not hold the strain.

I opted to purchase and install an ACT HD-R6 Clutch and Fidanza Flywheel. I tackled the task on my uncle’s garage (where I once worked). Every imaginable tool desired is available. I cleaned everything well, intalled the flywheel, and clutch...all nice and torqued, with loc-tite on every bolt. I addition, I replaced the rear motor mount which needed to be replaced. I refilled my tranny with the required RedLine GL-4 oil. One of CV axles’ was worn, so I decided to replace both axles while I was at it. All was great, or so I thought….

Prior to this day, my tranny was immaculate with not a single drop of oil anywhere around it. However, after a hundred miles I notice that the transaxle seals were leaking. There was also a trace of motor oil around the bell housing drain area. When replacing the clutch, the rear main seal was nice and clean. Now, everything is leaking!

What could be my problem?

If you are questioning my expertise, I have replaced well over 20 clutches on everything from work trucks to imports to sports cars.

My plan is to bring the tranny down again, and replace the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and transaxles seals. I will also check the flywheel to ensure that it is well balanced.

Has anyone ever experiences anything remotely similar to this?
