Car must be on to hook up spoiler - why?
I hooked up a stock spoiler to my car today, and I could nto get the LED light to work. SO, I called the manufacturer, and I was told that sometimes on older cars the car must be on while the light is being hooked up to get the light to work. I did what he said, and sure enough I now have a spoiler with a working LED! But why? Why must the car be on? There's no current running through those wires unless the brake pedal is depressed, which has nothing to do with the car being on. Anyone have any thoughts?
