Budeget b-pipe sucks

I have had my budget b-pipe for a few weeks now and its realy starting to ptick me off. It sounds great but hanges really low, i have about 3 inches of ground clearance. I have tryed everything from rigging hangers to all kinds of stuff. I took it to my local muffler shop and they siad to only way to fix it from hanging so low is to bend it by the axel, i cant real explain it but all i have to say is budget isn't top presise with thier bending measurments. If any one is thinking of getting a b-pipe , learn form my misstake and pay more and don't get budget. For now i have some getto *** hanger next to the gas tank that didnt help much and is about to break.

You must be unlucky. I'm very pleased with my budget B-pipe. Installed with the minimum of fuss and haven't had a moment's trouble with it since day one.

How is the Budget B-pipe any different than any other B-pipes out there? All B-pipes are extemely similar in design and all bolt on the same way. Think about it, I doubt this a Budget issue.

I love my budget bpipe. It hangs higher than the stock pipe and I never scrape with it.

well i know 2 peaople with warpspeed and their b-pipes are fine.

No not all b-pipes are the same, they are all diffrent diameters and have slitly diffrent bends. Maybe it is just my b-pipe that they messed up the bends on but that is no excuse.
They do all bolt on the same way and the hanger that is next to the suport beem thing is welded in the wrong spot , The pipe just looks like it was made half-a$$.

because i do have a warpspeed y-pipe and i love it.

Then when it came to buying a b-pipe i went for what ever was cheaper and i went with budget. I wish i went with warpspeed on the b-pipe.

Question. . .

Did you try to resolve this problem directly with Budget Exhaust before posting that their product SUCKS in a public forum?

I have one of their Y-pipes and although I haven't yet installed it, the previous owner installed it on his '97 and was very happy with it.

It is possible they screwed up the bends on YOUR pipe. I'm sure if you make an effort to contact Budget, they would be willing to work with you at resolving the problem.

I guess im just going to have to pay some money and go to a muffler shop and have them weld me new hangers and and maybe try to rebend somethings.

Gotta do what ya gotta do, I guess.

Make sure if you have a muffler shop bend the pipe that they have a mandrel bender. Most don't. They normally use crimp-style benders, which will restrict exhaust flow & defeat the purpose of having a mandrel bent y-pipe on your car.

Good luck.

Well, I dont know. All I can say is that my Budget B Pipe (w/ Magnaflow Resonator) is great. It does not hang low like yours. Did you install it yourself?

call budget, any company worth anything will stand by their products and do what they can to make you happy. simply ask them to send you a new b-pipe after explaining your problem and then you can send your old b back later.

i did this with maxtuning's vb and they were more than happy to immediatly send me a new vb overnight

nobody's perfect and i know how it feels to be the only one having problems with a mod that works for everyone else.

good luck

use hose clamps, It will raise the exhaust up...
wrap the hose clamp around the rubber hangars and tighten till it pulls the exhaust up

Sounds to me like the flange that bolts to the cat is rotated a bit too much and causing the rest of the pipe to rotate down. Do you have a stock cat or aftermarket. If you have an after market cat with freely rotating flanges, you can loosen the bolts, rotate the cat flange, and the B-pipe shoud rotate up. Keep in mind that when you do this, other clearances will be off and may bang portions of the body.

I've owned two B-pipe over the years, Stillen and Courtesy, and they both fit like crap. They both hung too low, they both it the trailing arms under big bumps, they both needed constant adjustment, etc. I don't understand why it's so hard to make a good fitting b-pipe.

Direct their attention to this thread & tell them they can give it (& you) a happy ending. Best advertising around! They'd be doing themselves a favor.

EDIT:

(Actually, better skip that - I just remembered what you titled this thing).

Hey maxspeed96CT, I have the exact same problems as you and feel the exact same way. The only way to fix it is bending, and nobody wants to do that to a pipe they paid extra for just so it was mandrel-bent. My muffler was also way of and I had to get custom hangars, be glad you don't have that! Anyways it is a very poorly constructed pipe, if I had known better I would have paid more for Stillen or WSP. My pipe also bangs against the exhaust shields and the flanges do not seal tight.

To all you people who say to call Budget and send it back, I am SURE they would make an exchange. But you have to remember how much work is involved in taking the pipe of, packing the old one and shipping it, reinstalled the new pipe etc. It is A LOT of work which most people aren't willing to do.

On the other hand, my Budget y-pipe is very well build and bolted right on. The only problem I noticed is that now it is getting some spots in the paint from I guess a coolant drip or such. The paint is not very good, but no rust yet (fingers crossed).
