Alarm beep

Hey I'm in process in making the alarm beep thing from vqpower.com I got some doubts that that small buzzer thing won't make enough noise to acctually hear it go beep. Am I right?

yea, of course BMWs have the better alarms i wonder why. that buzzer WOULD be loud enough to hear, but i dont know if it would be the kind of sounds you are looking for.

i havent done it personally, and the sound depends on the buzzer you buy. Radioshack sells some of that sound like buzzers from the game "operation" while other "buzzers" that are truly beep sounds. you need the right one

Ait I will see what's up. If it's going to turn out good I might record the audio of it and post it online. I'm still concerned about a size of that thing.

Mine is mounted under my bumper, and I can hear it clearly when I'm behind my car of leaving that way. I can hear it in front too most of the time, unless I walk too far away or there is a lot of noise. I think it is just about right as far as volume. I don't remember what "buzzer" I got from radio shack, but it was still a fairly small one.

I'm going to hook my "alarm beep" to my aftermarket siren from my other car, I'll post what it sounds like. I'll have it done in 1-2 days

well thats why you need to buy the right buzzer. some of the things categorized under "buzzers" sound like a beep, and others truely sound like a buzzer...get the right one and stop complaining

Okay I wouldn't advise for anybody to attemp this mod because I wired everything up just like in vqpower.com and it doesn't work. But since there really isn't a diagram on how to wire up a relay I took a guess estimate on it. I'm waiting on response from the creater of that write up on the diagram of wiring up the relay.

here's my setup:

note: don't waste extra $$ for a delay from vqpower.com's instruction. this mod can be completed WITHOUT the relay.

for those of you who are interested in a sound clip of the alarm beeper. let me know and can record a clip for you.

I also did mine without the relay. I decided to hook it up where the lights still flashl. I used the 115 db piezo buzzer from radioshack. Mine works great.

um, as i remember, some people wanting a louder sound (but not stupid enough to stick it on the outside of the car) said that putting it in the fender wells, or under the trunk padding, etc. get a louder beeper if you need one, and hook me up with a sound clip

Anybody know where I can get a louder beeper? It sounds fine if you stand by the car but if you start walking you can't hear it anymore

i installed the buzzer and it works pretty good. (w/out relay). the only problem is that it isnt that loud. i placed mine by the taillight. i gonna go try to get the 115 db buzzer. what is the db on the vqpowers website? that is the one that i used. and if you use two buzzers, will they go on exactly the same time? because if they didnt it would sound kinda wierd.

I just wired mine up with a alarm siren and no relay. ( I have it mounted next to my spare tire under the mat) Anyone know the best way to record the sound it makes? I want to post it on here for people to hear.

if you wired both buzzers to the same set of wires, they would go off at the same time. just get a louder buzzer instead of two quiet ones.
